At Karns Animal Clinic, we believe that our animals are members of the family who should receive the care that helps them to thrive. It isn’t always easy for Knoxville, TN, residents to find a veterinarian who can take care of livestock and horses. We want to make this as easy as possible for our clients.

Regular Large Animal Care

Large animals need to have checkups regularly to ensure they are healthy. Routine examinations may help to find conditions and illnesses before they become emergent and life-threatening. Ideally, all large animals will have a checkup every six months. During your examination and consultation, your veterinarian can counsel you on immunizations, parasite prevention, nutrition, oral care, and hoof maintenance. Our large animal veterinarians will work with you to customize a preventative healthcare strategy for your pet and livestock and address any other concerns.

Emergency/Urgent Large Animal Care

Large animals sometimes need emergency care. We do offer this service at our Knoxville, TN, office as well as farm visits. If possible, call ahead if you are bringing the animal in so we know to expect you. This also lets us determine whether we have a veterinarian available to handle the situation right away. We know that in a true emergency, you don’t have time to waste, and we want you to get the animal immediate care without delay.
